Welcome to Kington Lions

Kington Lions Club is a group, currently of 8 volunteer members, which raises money locally and distributes the proceeds to local good causes.

The Club is a registered charity (charity number 1036974 - KINGTON LIONS CLUB CHARITY TRUST FUND), and its members meet monthly in the Burton Hotel, Kington, to plan fund raising events and to decide on distributions to good causes.

New members are welcomed, and contact should be made in the first instance with the Honorary Secretary (tel 01544 340758) or with any Lions member.

Main projects include
  • the provision of disabled buggies,
  • installing Lifelines (emergency telephone alert systems),
  • making individual grants in cases of hardship or distress,
  • Financial support for, amongst others, the Kington Leg Club, Kington Larder, Red Kite Fostering, Lady Hawkins School, Kington Primary School, Kington branch of Hope Support

The Club is part of Lions Club International which has 45,000 clubs worldwide and more than 1.3 million members - the world's largest service club organisation.

In the UK the Lions Clubs come under the umbrella organisation of Lions Club International, Multiple District 105
, which itself subdivides into different Districts. Kington Lions is in the Western District of the Multiple District 105.
